Tonight was my first night at the opera. Ales and I are always up for a cultural experience, and so we thought it was time to have one. (it helps that cultural experiences are much less expensive here : ) The building that the opera is held in is pre-war and simply beautiful. Stalin's picture used to hang proudly on the now bare walls. Most of the building is made of marble and granite, and huge crystal chandeliers hang everywhere. It was the one thing that Hitler ordered not to bomb during WWII, even though it sits on a hill. The opera, entitled Eugene Onegin, has a fairly interesting plotline, and as always, a tragic ending. Which just as tragicly we didn't stay for. It was three hours long and so we decided to call it a night after the second act. I know, I know, we're such spoil-sports. Maybe we'll last next time. |

And just for fun, a picture of my handsome boy. The quality isn't the greatest, I tried to repair it a bit .... but I thought he looked nice : ) Has anyone else ever been to the opera? If so, did you enjoy it? What opera did you watch? Good night for now, all! |
