Valentines: The Aftermath

Published in

I know I'm suppose to do these things sooner, but lets just say I'm behind the times. Even more so since I'm only posting two photos today and the the recipe tomorrow : )

So the cake. Oh, did I mention this was about cake? Because you know it always comes down to cake. Actually I'm not a huge cake eater. More of a cookie dough, brownie batter kinda girl. But that is a confession for another time. The reason I like cake is because its fun and pretty and other people like it.

Lately I've had to make up a few recipes of my own, and they've been alright, but not hugely successful. But this one, this one was much better. Aaaand much more work. But well worth it.

It was a three layer cake, all three layers different consisting of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. I used a buttercream frosting as well as some ganache. And it was gooo-oood.

See? Oh, I forgot to mention I made it into a heart. A broken heart.

Not that my heart is broken, in fact its very un-broken. I did it more for creative expression. I mean everybody makes heart cakes, why would I want to be the same?

(yes, I do like to be different, which is why I live in Belarus, thanks for asking : )

So, until I share the recipe, toodles!

xoxo Em

Haha, I'm so sorry : ( but I brought it to the church event and they chopped it up into little pieces, so I didn't have any left for you .... but I will make you some more, oh wait - you're on your diet aren't you??? Well, we can make the granola bars and I'll make you my chai, k?
